My name is Mikhail Vassilenko. I am a board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in adults with a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety and panic disorders, depression, Bipolar Disorder, and psychotic disorders. I take a person-centered approach to patient care and will work with you to achieve your best self. I firmly believe that standard medicine in conjunction with therapy is the best approach to getting one to their fullest and healthiest potential.
I was born and raised in Novosibirsk, Russia, and came to America for opportunity and a greater experience. I initially got my Doctorate of Medicine from the Novosibirsk State Medical Institute in Russia. I then completed my residency in America at the Washington University in Saint Louis and began working in inpatient facilities in Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania, I was the medical director of an LTSR (long-term structured residency) and the medical director of an acute care, inpatient psychiatric hospital. In the afternoons I also worked with patients as an outpatient psychiatrist. I spent over 20 years in these positions until my loving wife decided she had enough of Pennsylvanian winters and insisted we move to Florida. In Florida, I continued to work inpatient for a few years until finally coming to work for Lake Worth Psychiatry. It is here that I will hopefully help you in the journey to mental Health and well-being.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife, 2 daughters, and our 4 dogs. One of my interests is traveling, which I especially enjoy cruises.
