Ellen Cohen LCSW

I’m a licensed psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience, originally from New York. In 2003, I traded snowy winters for
sunny skies, following my family to Florida, and I’ve loved it here ever since. As a therapist, I bring a wealth of life experience to my
work. I’ve served as an Adjunct Professor of Social Work at FAU and a Clinic Director for nonprofit organizations. In addition, I work
with LGBTQ + transgender adults and their families to assist them through their journey. My goal is to help clients find hope and
confidence to overcome life’s challenges, no matter how overwhelming they may feel.

My approach is client-centered, creating a safe, calm, and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. I
work collaboratively, offering insights, tools, and coping strategies to help you in therapy and beyond. I bring curiosity, compassion,
and a genuine desire to see you grow and thrive.

Outside of work, I find joy in life’s simple pleasures. I love cuddling with my two little dogs—Bradley Cooper and David
Bowie—who bring endless laughter and love to my days. I stay active with swimming and biking. Recently, over the past year, I
discovered a passion for painting with acrylics on canvas.

Through art, I’ve found a unique way to process and express feelings that words can’t always convey—everything from joy and
loss to love and mystery. As I like to say, “Every piece tells a story, even if I’m the only one who knows it.” I look forward to helping you create your own story of growth and resilience
